Youth say NO to Violence against Women 2 : The Symposium
The Government of Tanzania has made the commitment to ending VAW in Tanzania. With this goal in mind, VAW priorities have been integrated into national development plans, including the National Strategy for Growth and the Reduction of Poverty in Tanzania (NSGRP or MKUKUTA). In addition, the Government of Tanzania has ratified and is committed to upholding the international Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Violence Against Women (CEDAW). Further to this, the Ministry for Community Development, Gender, and Children (MCDGC) is also implementing a National Plan of Action for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence Against Women and Children.

UN Day: Celebrating the One UN in Tanzania
The 64th United Nations Anniversary celebrations marked on Friday at Karimjee Grounds in Dar es Salaam was impressive to many attendants. This celebration focused on the successes of the UN and its agencies in Delivering as One, the one pilot initiative which started in 2007.

Providing the space and platforms for ordinary citizens to have their voices heard on issues that matter to them at the national and local level. In both developed and developing countries, citizens have come together, to put the priorities of the poor and excluded groups, firmly on the political agenda and get their own governments to address them.
